This is a landscape photo competition. This is nature but it cannot be a landscape. :-)

I love the pastel colours and the minimalist composition but there is a disturbing vertical white line (which maybe comes from the car window) which really spoils the peace of this.

It is very brave to have taken this from a moving vehicle, the effect is superb. Definitely a favourite in the original category.

This is a lovely view, looks like somewhere on the beautiful Turkish Riviera. The composition is well balanced, the sea has a wonderful texture… there is a lovely peaceful dawn feeling. It is a shame you have adjusted the density of the sky and the distant mountains rather carelessly, leaving dark smudges here and there. I wonder if you have used the correct tool for this. Maybe try with layers in photoshop for a gradual and invisible adjustment.

Well you have managed to photograph the aurora borealis which is always interesting of course, but the image quality is bad and the photograph is not very easy to look at.

I really don’t see a landscape in this.

The burnt forest, a subject which surely touches us all. The yellow rucksack makes this, bringing the other colours, yellow and green, to life. Your photograph is a good documentation of the death and rebirth of this forest, you have photographed the scene before you as a witness, we see what you saw. But you had a very rich and rare landscape opportunity here just waiting in front of you. Lots of interesting lines, shapes and colours, a dark and heavy sky and lots of fallen wood on the ground. The witness in you should have given way to the artist. Next time you find yourself in an unusual location (like this) you should recognize the opportunity, the subject is both rare and original, try and photograph it from an original angle. Here a gnarled black trunk in the foreground for example…then place your chap with the yellow rucksack within your composition.

Beautiful light and setting but too much lake. The background alps could have made an interesting backdrop in a higher angled composition. Looks like rainbow weather.
