Macro Photo Competition 2014 No 4 Results

Richard Kubica from Slovakia has won $189.60 and a Leica C worth $700. Richard has used an image stacking technique which is common in macro photography. If you have never heard of the image stacking technique there is a good explanation in this YouTube video.

Flower Photo Competition 4 2014 Results

Lazarus Nunley from the US has won the flower photo competition with a photo taken at a wedding. Lazarus has won $340.80 plus a Leica C worth $700.

Mobile Phone Panorama Competition #4 Results

Gerard Collett ( flickr, twitter ) from London, England has won the fourth mobile panorama photo contest. Gerard has won $88.00 plus a Leica C "E" Light Gold Camera with Panorama Function and Wi-Fi. City Competition 4 2014 - all cities! : Results

Bird Photo Competition 4 2014 Results

The latest bird photo contest has been won by the very talented photographer Stefan Pütz from Germany. Stefan has won $322.80 and a Leica C worth $700. We would like to congratulate Stefan and the runners-up who also have astoundingly good shots. We'd like to think the judge Mike Atkinson for picking the winning photos.

Black-And-White Photo Competition 3 2014 Results

Congratulations to Benno Riffel from Sinsheim in Germany. Benno has won the jaw-droopingly large prize of $10,860.00 and a Leica M MONOCHROM body worth $8000.00. Benno said, "Wonderful...I'am so happy...". We are happy for you Benno - well done. The only down side to winning this prize is that, Leica's monochrome camera is so popular there can sometime be a wait for the production to meet the demand.

The judges Thorsten Overgaard and Birgit Krippner have picked 34 winning shots from 1086 entries. Thank you for everyone who entered this black-and-white competition. It's wonderful to see how popular this competition is, and the high standard of entries. Sometimes by removing the colour from photos and putting more emphasis on texture and form it is possible to create some very artistic and eye-catching images. We look forward to seeing more of your black-and-white photos in the next competition.

Cat Photo Competition 4 2014 Results

Catherin Arsenault from Canada has won $254.40 plus a Leica C worth $700 with a super black and white shot of a sphynx cat. The judge Illona Haus has chosen 10 winning shots from 212 entries. Well done to the winning photographers and a big thank you to everyone who entered.

Hairless cats may look like aliens from another planet, but with more and more people suffering from allergies, these magnificent moggies are going to be the perfect pet for some people. I wonder if they get sun burnt in the summer. It's great to see such a variety of breeds, and shooting styles in this competition.
