  • An exciting scenery with great tonality and lots of details that pop up every time you look at this photograph. A peek over the shoulder of someone into a cinematic story that you as the viewer can keep imagining what is going on. We like this photograph more every time we look at it. This is the winner of the I-SHOT-IT Black & White Competition. Congratulations!

  • Thank you so much to the I-Shot-It team for choosing my photo amongst all these other beautiful images! This is a great honor, I’m overwhelmed and completely over the moon! My name is Eva Depoorter and I’m a hobbyist. Photography has always been an interest and it became a passion. My greatest interest is in photographing people. I live in Antwerp where there is a large Jewish community. This image was taken in Antwerp on the day of the arrival of a rabbi from Israel, where everyone was ready to welcome him! This photo is from a series “The fascinating Jewish community of Anwerp” I’m still working on. Leica M6 with 35mm lens was my equipment, Tri-X 400 developed in D76. Thanks again.

  • My name is Hans Erik Syversen, and I shot this photo during a stay in Copenhagen. In the hotel I stayed in there was a window with no glass, that I walked by every morning. Each time I felt something as I looked into the "backyard" which was so quiet, in contrast to the really busy street "Vesterbrogade" on the other side of the hotel. The photo is shot with the Leica M 240-P

  • The angle makes this photograph work really well. The white on white and the expression in the face. We get the idea it is a lost son, and reading the inscription, it could be. But it’s the care for the memory that is striking in this photograph.

  • A moment of childhood that is worth saving a photographic memory of. It’s so surreal that it is almost a dream. So much to wonder about and look at that we liked to look at this photograph again and again.

  • Alone in the world, a beautiful morning somewhere. Adventure will resume after breakfast in this diner. We like the strict composition of all the elements and lines that seem to fall in perfect order. Look how directly and elegant your eye is lead to the main subject and follows his attention. Very nice work!

  • the story behind the picture? this beautiful rose is in my front yard. A couple of years ago Dad cut it back to the point of death, at least that's what my Mom thought. Cue to 2015: it's flourished with multiple blooms even into the fall... Minolta Maxxum 5D 6.1 MP - 50mm 1.7 me? very amateur, but... working on that! I picked up my camera to change my focal point during cancer treatment in January 2015 and just can't put it down. I'm NED now and hooked on photography, still in my backyard (energy). You learn a lot about the seasons, microscopic life through the lens... Like my rose I am flourishing (working on that) and I am trying to teach myself to see and think through each situation better. A lot of very beautiful work in this contest, congratulations to all of you. Awesome stuff! Chris Carr (cc3373 on Flickr)

  • There is a balance in this photograph, between the two persons and all the other interesting elements, that keep drawing you into the scene and keep discovering new things. It’s like a little movie, and you are the director of what happens.

  • This was taken in Cartagena, Colombia in one of the countless little café-restaurants that enliven nearly every street corner in this colonial era port town on the Caribbean. I was able to work the scene for quite a while in peace, shooting the breeze with the man thanks to the amazing Ricoh GR, a ninja of a camera.

This photo I took on White Lake Co.Monaghan Ireland. The camera was on tripod and I experimented with ND Graduated filters in this sunny evening when the second boat suddenly floated in the frame. • I have been interested in photography for a long time. It began during high school, when I felt an urge to record the beauty of the world and started to learn the craft of photography. At first, I was pursuing photography on the side while helping my father take care of the family business. In 1998, I was able to pursue it as a full-time career. While i am always regretted my inability to draw well, the camera was able to replace the pen for me. I have a strong belief in the power of images: they are able to transcend language, background, nationality. Through photography, I finds it easiest to express his thoughts. This image is taken in Myanmar year 2014 , I am planning to organize another phototrip to there this year. If you like to join me, pls contact me~

  • I took this at the British Museum in London, I think with a Fuji X100T which is a great little camera. The museum has a central courtyard with a latticework glass roof which, when the sun shines at the right angle, makes excellent patterns on the white stone walls. After desaturating, a bit of added contrast in post processing made the shadows stand out. I added a couple of gradients at the sides to focus the eye onto the man walking down the stairs.
