I am Peter Nutkins, an amateur photographer, based in the UK.
On my way to visit family I stopped off in Burnham on Sea in Somerset, England. The sun was setting and I just had time to trudge up the beach and take a quick snap of the wooden lighthouse that faces out to sea.
I use a Pentax K-1 which provides full frame 35mm images with a colourful punch. To combat a very strong wind I used a heavy Manfrotto tripod. This image was taken with the 31mm f1.8 Limited lens. Small, and made of metal, this lens is not only top quality in producing sharp images it feels great to use.
Post processing included recovering shadow detail on the lighthouse as well as some overall tonal contrast adjustments. I also got rid of a bottle left on the sand!
To amplify the colours of the sky in the standing water I reflected the sky using luminosity masking.
