Wow! Fantastic capture! The cloud in front of the lightning aids the composition as it's shape mirrors the group of buildings below.

From my hotel balcony, I watched as a storm from the north slowly merged with a storm from the south to form a mega storm with some incredible lightning! I waited until the storm's heaviest lightning was right over the skyline to time out my shot. This was the best of about 5 keepers. A fellow photographer on a forum I belong to said it reminded him of "War of the Worlds". I used my Nikon D810 with Nikkor 24-70 lens mounted on a tripod with manual cable release. Settings were ISO 100, F 3.2, 1 second. Thank you for this affirmation of my work! It is an honor to be selected amongst so many other very talented photographers. Kim Herold, Navarre, FL
