  • What a beautiful and classic photograph of a lively child with an extraordinarily cute expression and large eyes to explore it all! We note that the tonality is perfect, the details of the eyes exactly as they should be, and a perfect balance in the photograph. This is the winner of the I-SHOT-IT Black & White Competition. Congratulations!

  • "Fame" ... so I titled this portrait of my niece ... The photo was taken at a time of the end of lunch at the birthday party of my two sisters, one of which the small mom Joy portrayed in the picture. It was a moment of serenity and I noticed that my niece was playing with the pot sitting on the lap of his mother ... I not thought a lot and I immediately took the camera and I have not put on the table level and then the small and I took . The light from the window made the difference. For this shot I used a Canon Rebel XTi; f 5.6; ISO 400; 1/50 sec. with time priority. It was August 29, 2010 ...

  • Thank you for the recognition. I love making Black and White images. I find the "honestly" with which the stories of subjects are told, when colour is removed from an image, not only captivating but also mesmerizing. This images was intended as a portrait of the dad with his newborn son, but it all changed when the four year old older brother spontaneously took of his shirt and climbed into his dad's embrace to love his new baby brother. The moment lasted only an instant, but it will remain one of my favourite images for a long time to come. Maryna Cotton - South Africa Nikon D800 24-70mm 2.8 200ISO F7.1 125s

  • Mike from Reading, UK. Taken with a Ricoh GR & processed in Lightroom / Alien Skin Exposure Many thanks for the award, I do love this picture and I'm pleased you saw the reference to Henri Cartier-Bresson! This is a small street in my home town after some heavy rain, my children were out playing in the puddles when our cat joined us and started jumping back and forth over the puddles, I grabbed a couple of shots mid-jump and this was the one I really liked.

  • Appreciate the recognition! I'm honoured! My name is Umar Ali, I'm a photographer from Lahore Pakistan. The photo was taken at Wazir Khan Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in the subcontinent. I took the photo about 2 hours before sunset on a winter day. The light was beautiful and I thought black & white really made it look dramatic. I took this photo with a Fuji X-Pro1 and 14mm f2.8.

  • We see this as a contemporary photograph, and yet it is like if it was the 1950’s. We like to think of what the story could be before and after. The balance and composition is very well-working, as if they are tilting out of the frame in a moment.
