  • Thanks to everyone who voted for my photo! This is my 1st win in this competition! I have shot hundreds of photos of lightning and this one has garnered more attention than any of my others. It has been featured on the National Weather Channel on TV, published in Outdoor Photographer magazine, and won 2nd place in the amateur division of the International Photographer's Association competition. I shot this near Lamesa, Texas with a Canon XSI on a tripod. The wind had blown this cloud into the area where the lightning was coming out of the cloud cover in the top, and struck at just the right time! The only post processing was cropping a little. Thanks! Jerry Cotten.

  • Thank you so much to all the voters and congratulations to the winner. My name is Sue Fitz and I took this shot in Unionville PA just a couple of weeks ago. I shot this spectacular row of cherry blossoms using a Nikon D70 with a Nikkor 70-300mm lens. I did the smallest amount of post prodution using Photogene. My Sunday ritual is to grab a scone and a latte and head out into the countyside with my camera. I'm inspired by the beauty in nature and the history of the area where I live. Thank you I Shot It for this Mark Of Excellence.

  • My name is Debbie Robillard and I live in Baton Rouge, LA. I was using a Nikon D5100 Nikor 300mm lens. I took at my work just taking shots practicing and it was a cloudy overcast day. I am an amateur photographer about a year taking photos and loving it. I love nature and animals the most when taking photos. Thanks so much for the compliments and encouragement. I am honored to be included with such great photographers.

  • My name is Paul J Marto Jr. and I shot this beautiful raptor with my Canon 7D & my 100-400mm zoom lens. This gorgeous shot from above is of a juvenile Red-tailed hawk. What makes this particular catch so unique, is not just the amazing perspective, nor the captured shadow. The most amazing part of this composition are the two bright red tail feathers. These signify the transition from juvenile to adulthood. This photo and many others are available for purchase on my etsy website: https://www.etsy.com/shop/Martography. Also, please visit my Fine Art America website where I have over 200 of my best wildlife/nature photos, all of which are available for purchase.
