Wildlife Photo Competition 3 2015 : Entry Number 10

This is a wonderful action shot in difficult light of a fast moving tricky subject. You have seized this young roe deer beautifully, she seems to be jumping into the focus zone. The difficult shady conditions have given your picture a lovely soft character, while the sunny, more colourful distance makes a contrasting backdrop. Great shot and this round’s winner, congratulations !

Wow ... I am very pleased with my first place in this category. My name is Werner Schmäing and I am from Dillenburg, a small town near Frankfurt, Germany. I am glad that I could take this photo in the evening light with an"old lens" in combination with a new camera. The photo was taken with the Canon 7D II and the EF 200 1.8 L. The lighting situation was really difficult and I'm glad that I could pull it off well. If you look closely, you can see dimly another fawn ... the situation was very emotional.
