We found a series of great portraits in this competition. This one we find very interesting in that it takes a while to get into it, but then it is hard to leave it again. The expression and the excessive background makes the photograph a great portrait.

Very grateful to have received this Mark of Excellence award! This is a portrait of a young Bhutanese monk taken in Paro Rinpung Dzhong, Bhutan. They say eyes are the windows to the soul.
