A frozen mountain sunrise. Beautiful detail throughout this photograph wins you the 1st prize. You have composed this scene so well, preferring a strong foreground of colour, lines and shapes to an empty sky. Nice warm tones and colours add to this fine sharp shot. Well done and congratulations !

Wow! I am once again really honored that one of my image convinced the Jury. Took this one after a freezing cold night in the swiss mountains. The evening before, the stormy wild wind let my tripod fall, even I had it fixed really well. That broke my new Nikon FX Camera and I wanted to give up with tears in my eyes. Luckily I had a second camera body with me and so I decided to stay, even if I was in the mood to give it up. All night long I couldn't sleep cause of the stormy wind and my sad thoughts about the camera accident. Nevertheless I got up really early in the morning and found this beautiful spot. When the rising sun illuminated the snow, I found peace again and the joy cam back step by step. Many Greetings from Switzerland, Tobias
