I love macro photography of all sorts, but I find refractions so fascinating. This is a small plastic plate and a sheet of striped scrapbook paper. I took several photos from different parts of the plate and with the paper turned different ways, and they were all different. I love that kind of flexibility with this prop!
I actually snapped this particular photo with my iPhone 6plus. I took it in "square" format with the intent of posting on my instagram account. (nickiismynameo) :) I use this paper a lot, because stripes are so cool refracted; the bolder the color, the better. When you look closely, you can see small scratches and scuffs from the plate. I like those; they give each piece personality. Try it sometime. You'll never look at your dishes the same again!
