This is such a happy and light hearted photograph. I love your simplistic, soft focus approach and tight crop. The splashes of contrasting colours are just splendid, the overcast weather gives the flowers a lovely shadowless saturation, you chose the right day for this photo… Sadly the dominant red flowers which i feel should be the main focus of this composition are just beyond the short depth of field and my eye keeps coming back down to the sharp foreground vegetation on this side of the fence instead of being held by those wonderful flowers. This was a winning composition, just let down by the focus… More please !

My name is Michele. I live in Corpus Christi Texas. I am so very honored to be selected for a Mark of Excellence! WOW!! This pic was taken in the Texas Hill Country in March which is famous for the abundance of wildflowers that bloom in the spring time. Particularly, Texas Blue Bonnets, the deep purple flowers beyond the fence. My husband and I traveled to the hill country for the day. Weather was rainy and overcast. The wildflowers are truly breathtaking and the further off the beaten path you go, the better. Colors are bursting. Fields are engulfed in a beautiful sea of flowers. I treaded through high grass(I had on my boots and was careful to watch for rattle snakes because they like to hide in the wild flowers) & took several shots of this amazing field. I'm an amateur and used a Canon Power Shot A2200 HD. It's a great camera. However, I am in the process of purchasing a much better, larger camera. Thanks for the advice and thanks for the award. THIS MADE MY DAY!!
