Thanks a lot to everyone for your votes, I feel very honoured! My name is Andreas Lentfer and my particular interest is in nature photography. I took this photo a while ago on the island of Helgoland in the "Deutsche Bucht". It is a very important resting place for migrating birds especially during autumn. These three Starlings were part of a huge flock gathering on the beach of the island. I spotted them, when the main group moved on picking flies from the sand. These three guys stayed behind for a moment. Suddenly those hundreds of birds took of and caused these three guys to all look into that same direction before they followed their friends. I took the picture with a full-frame DSLR and a 500mm lens, lying flat on my stomach. Post processing was done with Aperture and Nik Software, cropping, improving contrast and exposure and final sharpening.
