Child Photo Competition 2014 No 3 : Entry Number 37

This image really look like a movie still. What happened here? What are they looking at? A thunderstorm? A Hurricane? Or maybe something completely different? I would really love to know it. It caught my interest. The fact that this picture is not in focus makes it even more lively and exciting. Also the dark colors. I really like it!!

Hello and thank you so much for selecting this photograph! This image was shot in Monterey California using a Leica M6 and a Summicron 50mm lens on Kodak's Portra 400 film, no post processing. The kids were watching a great horned owl take flight just off our hotel balcony at twilight, a beautiful and frightening moment to see so much power so close!
