This is a beautifully composed photograph where you have succeeded in keeping the real forest atmosphere intact. Your sharp focus on the leafy foreground and the wide depth of field lead the eye throughout, from the detail of the forest floor through the emptyness of the misty distance. Wow! Thank you very much for the first prize. My name is Tobias Ryser and and I am a nature and landscape photographer from Switzerland. This picture was taken after a disappointment for me: The plan was to capture the moonset over a beautiful landscape spot in the morning hours but because of the mist, I had to change my plans and found this spot inside the forest nearby. I guess this shows, that it's always possible to capture good images, even if there is some disappointment in the beginning.
