This is beautiful work. You have conjured up a stunning effect with your brilliant use of available light, dark and natural contrast. The green band of grass, though perhaps not very African, creates an important foreground (and depth) but also a contrasting line of cool colour to really set off the warm tones of this so proud lion. The dark background keeps all of our attention on the subject whilst giving him a wonderful contour, he really pops out of the photo. This photograph is a good example to all. I often mention that a picture lacks a little magic something, well you certainly have photographed that magic here.
