My name is Greg Trenchard from Baltimore, MD. Thank you all for voting for my image. It is an honor to recieve a Mark of Excellence, especially given how many great images were entered in this competition. I took this photo at Eastern State Penitentiary, an abandoned prison in Philadelphia, PA which last housed prisoners in 1971. Its medieveal looking architecture, coupled with 40 years of decay have created a fascinating location to photograph. I took this photo through the bars of one of the cell blocks what was not open to the public. I used a Canon 6D with the 24-105 f/4L. The scene was lit only by the skylights in the ceiling of cellblock, and when I underexposed, the scene really came to life. Again thank you for liking my image.
