Macro Photo Competition 2012 No 1 : Entry Number 322

Superb close-up, perfect clarity, a beautiful photo!

This Carpenter Bee was shot with a borrowed Sony Alpha 100, with a 1.5m/4.9ft Sony Macro lens (4.5-5.6/75-300) and a Raynox DCR-150. My Nikon flashes don't work with the camera, but it was an overcast day. With ISO 200 and a 1 second exposure, I was able to manually trigger the flashes (2, triggered with Cactus Wireless V5 transceivers). I'm Derek Hauffe, currently shooting in Alabama, US.
