The only down side to winning this prize is that, Leica's monochrome camera is so popular there can sometime be a wait for the production to meet the demand.
The judges Thorsten Overgaard and Birgit Krippner have picked 34 winning shots from 1086 entries. Thank you for everyone who entered this black-and-white competition. It's wonderful to see how popular this competition is, and the high standard of entries. Sometimes by removing the colour from photos and putting more emphasis on texture and form it is possible to create some very artistic and eye-catching images.
