We are pleased to announce a new competition with a brand new theme:
Mobile Phone Panorama Competition
We are also pleased to announce a new judge William Stewart who will be joining Birgit Krippner to judge this contest. The rules of the competition are:
- Only panorama pictures shot with cell-phones (mobile phones) are allowed.
- A panorama must have at least the ratio 1:2 or wider.
This can be in either horizontal or vertical orientation. - Only post processing on the phone (apps) are allowed.
As the judge do not see any EXIF data, compliance with the rules is built on trust.
The judges would like to encourage the exploration of interesting, and perhaps unusual subjects for this format. I-Shot-It has other competitions for Landscapes and other more traditional subjects of panoramas. We certainly will not reject panoramas of these subjects; we are very interested to see how creatively this format can be used.
William Stewart : "Panoramic formats have a long history, going back to the original cityscape photos of Istanbul in the 19th Century, and have seen an incredible revolution in fidelity over the last decades with dedicated tripods, heads, cameras and software to process these images. These new technologies though are targeted to the professional, or serious amateur, photographer. Recently, however, we have seen panoramic capabilities being supported as a very accessible and easy to use feature of both compact cameras and smart phones. We thought this competition would provide a way to highlight this feature, and provide a means to showcase and give voice to, those who have and are actively exploiting this feature to create great images. We are looking forward to seeing what you do with it!"
Birgit Krippner : “I’m very excited to be involved with this competition. Mobile devices are pervasive and dedicating a competition to this technology opens the competition to a much wider and more diverse population of creatives.â€
As well as winning this super Leica C Camera, there will be a cash prize that will grow with every entry.
