The space in this photograph and the timing that allows it are simply perfect. Work and play down on the ghats in a minimalist world of light and water. You have worked so hard on the composition, giving us so much to look at, the reflection just doubles the finesse of your approach. This is out of the top drawer, a stunning and harmonious photograph oozing peace and tranquility. A worthy winner indeed.

Thank you so much - especially for the kind and detailed commentary, which is not taken for granted these days! To be honest, I have little left to say here.*smile* As a persistent travel photographer with focus on Asian culture- and biodiversity (a subject that now demands a certain idealism), I am seldom fixed or at home. The frame - shot at a Dhobi Ghat in Benares, India - is one of my alltime favs and an example of my many impressions of India, which only revealed its beauty and effect much later. (35mm @ f8 via Canon FF, moderate post) I thank the jury from the bottom of my heart (also for another 3 Mark Of Excellence) and would like to express my kind respect to everyone who has been honored here.
