Your composition is wonderful and the sea seems to be moving and alive. The light is low and soft and beautifully warm, the rocks pointed and hard. This almost made the top spot but there is something just too soft about the detail…

Thank you very much for the Mark Of Excellence. I feel honored receiving this badge. My name is Kai Hornung. I am a landscape photographer from Hanover, Germany. In May I travelled to Portugal to get to some of the spots I always wanted to photograph. Praia da Ursa was just as amazing as I hoped it would be. I took many, many images that day. This one here being one of 'calmer' ones. In post processing I tried to feature the light and mood and have it as close as possible to the way I experienced it. This included for example adding contrast in parts where the spray and mist made the entire place make soft. And again having some of the softness in the scene. As always I shot with my mirrorless Sony a6000. Here I used a 12mm Samyang.
