This was taken in central Utah. Since the relation of the moon and the Milky were critical, this shot is only possible a few days of the year. This was taken the fourth day after the new moon in May. It's a combined 4 shots. The first one taken about an hour after sunset with the partial moon lighting the foreground. The other three were taken several hours later after the moon had set and the Milky Way risen in dark skies. The shots were combined in photoshop.
