The colors are simply amazing! The sharpness of the butterfly is very good!

I shot this amazing butterfly, a Red-disked Emperor (Doxocopa zunida felderi) at Wildsumaco Lodge in Ecuador. Due to its wonderful location on the eastern slope of the Andes it has tremendous diversity for both birds and butterflies. I used a Canon Mark IV with a 180 mm Macro lens. The soft, but bright overcast sky on this day helped to show off all the colors in this scene. I did a little post processing in photoshop (contrast, birghtness, saturation) but really, not much. I like to keep things natural and realistic. John Hendrickson
