In bird photography - as in many other branches of photography - opportunities for competition-winning shots can be presented with only a second's notice. Having the awareness to recognise these moments and the speed and composure to make the most of them are capabilities that can be developed. There will always be an element of luck involved in shots like this - not least the perfect pose struck by the frog in the pelican's bill - but the photographer's 'eye' and responsiveness in this case have clearly delivered success where most would have failed.

My Name is Friedhelm Peters and I live in a small Town called Coesfeld ( Germany ) I am a Hobby Photographer who love to make Pictures, the photograph is a good counterweight to my job( working in a Hospital ). I shot this Picture in the Allwetterzoo Münster with my Pentax K3 and the Pentax DA*300 f4 + HD Pentax-DA AF-Konverter 1,4x AW. I saw the Bird playing with something, I thought it was a Fish lay down and shot and shot and... when I finished I saw this on my Display I was very happy captured this unique moment. Proceed the RAW File with LR5 and after that I used Color Efex Pro 4.
