This is a lovely tranquil scene, beautifully portrayed with an empty and a busy side. The composition is interesting and the blackless, pushed foreground is effective. It is a shame though that a lighter halo around the trees is still visible - this could have been processed better with a smaller brush and a bigger zoom... nice work all the same :-)

Thank you for the Mark of Excellence on my photo. My name is Mike Griffiths and I am from Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania. While visiting beautiful Silver Bay, Minnesota, I was struck by the incredible beauty of Western Lake Superior, and the beauty surrounding it. For this particular photograph I used a Sony DSC-HX200V, and it was taken handheld without a tripod. I tweaked it just a bit in Adobe Photoshop to lighten the shadows. I do, however, disagree with the comment about the halo. As hard as I try I cannot see a halo around anything. Thank you very much for your kind comments and for the Mark of Excellence!
