  • This photograph is best admired in large size, because at that moment you become part of the photo and the exciting moment of being a train, being on a train and photographing a train at the same time. The colors, the composition, the simplicity, and yet sophisticated beyond what we have seen elsewhere, is what make this photograph the winner of this I-SHOT-IT Compeition.

  • I shot this photograph while on a trip in Alaska. We were riding the McKinley Explorer, and I was standing where they had an area to go outside on the last train. I was watching intently at the scenery for pictures, when I suddenly noticed the reflection off of the side of the train. I took a few quick shots, and then waited for the train to turn, so I could get this illusion of the train going in two directions. I shot this with my Nikon 7200 and my zoom 35-80 at 55mm. I used Lightroom to add more contrast. This photograph is not much different than the original photo.

  • There is movement in this photograph, a lot of atmosphere, and a feeling of being the boy in the photo. Great colors and composition, pressed the shutter in the exact right moment.

  • Thank you for the recognition! I am based in New York, but I shot this in Paris, France in January 2020 with a Leica Q2. I had been entranced by the kiosk and was photographing it alone when a boy came riding by on a scooter, and I was fortunate enough to capture this moment. Processing for this shot was done in Lightroom. You can find more of my work on my instagram (@waitlisted) - it is currently focused on watch photography, but I hope to branch out more widely soon. -James K.

  • "Sunrise Between Storms" Winter in California is wet season. This day was no exception. After a cold, rainy night, we hoped to catch a sunrise before the forecast rains for the day. From Black Butte, we drove to a Herd Peak fire trail just prior to first light. As sunrise occurred, it was a mixture of intense sunlight, breaking through the holes in the clouds, and gusty winds separating the clouds above from the fog burning off around the base of Mt. Shasta. An hour later, the mountain was completely shrouded in thick clouds and heavy rain fell throughout the day. For a few brief moments, the sun lit the clouds above Shasta on fire, creating colors befitting a volcano of this mountain's stature. Sometimes you just have to be thankful for the moments you get and move on to the next opportunity. • The big city and the network, all the things made by and for us. There’s something very lonely about this despite all the people that are present in the constructions.

  • A different and very interesting take on the new construction in New York. A photographers paradise, but not easy to photograph without making the same as many others. This one is very different.

  • Thanks a lot for this Mark of Excellence and for the feedback! I took this photo with my Leica Q one early morning last October, from "le Pont des Arts" in Paris. Needed some crop in post processing for the composition. I saw the passer-by coming from the corner of my eye and had to run a bit to have him in the right place! Again thanks! Emmanuel
