  • Congratulations! I have chosen this piece of work as the overall winner of this round of the competition. The framing, lighting and attention to detail throughout the process and creation of this is superb. A well executed shot with great lighting and well presented.

  • 2nd place goes to this very excellent piece of work. It was a hard choice in this round as there were some really strong solid pieces of work including this one. I love the lighting overall on this and the tones and colour are superb. Great post edit work also. Well done

  • 3rd Place Another really strong piece of work. Superb lighting and superb post edit attention to this. The placement of the car within the scene works really well and the subtile colour toning is a great addition Well done

  • Really like this, its never that easy to shoot scenes like this, mainly because of the lighting angles and the restriction on access and such like so its a great effort that has really paid off. Great attention to the lighting which has been well thought out and I love the lighting in this probably most of all. Great piece of work and a superb piece of lighting.

  • Thomas Boudewijn. Car Photographer I became inspired by, Yes, the Judge; Tim Wallace. So i'm honored His style shows the pure beauty of cars, done by great lighting. Love the design of cars. Another inspiration is Sarel van Staden. Check him out! I was asked by a photography student. He asked how the FDL technique works and if I could teach him. He had to make a photo series that same week! So I said: why don't you not bring it in practice on a cool location right away. He said. I'll bring a cool car. Well he did He showed up in a black Lamborghini Gallardo V10! The location is a secret, because this is a workshop were very expensive and rare Austin Healeys are build and restored. Really wanted to shoot this Austin Healey 100M standing there. I showed him how the FDL technique works and we tried it on the Lamborghini. His teacher was very pleased. And I got to drive the Lamborghini. Equipment Tripod, Speedlight, Beautydish, Diffuser panel, Nikon D850

  • This is a great shot and I can totally imagine that a lot of work has gone into this. The lighting on the car and the technical elements of that on its own are great but the overall work into the rest of the scene to really lift the shot are the impressive element to this. Well done

  • A really well thought out and impressive piece of work. The postioning is totally on point and the lighting is really well done too. I really like the use of space and the final toning on the edit really takes it the rest of the way to being a brilliant shot.

  • Thanks for the feedback and the Mark Of Excellence. For this shot I used the classic lightpainting technique. Several exposures were necessary to catch the AMG perfect. Postproduction have been done in Photoshop.

  • Its different to what we normally see in here but this is great I think and I had to include this into the round. The overall 'feel' of this really works well mixed with the colour toning and the atmosphere that creates. Well done

  • Great shot that I wanted to include in this round. I love the stance, position and angle of this. The bike has been given a dynamic purpose here that really suits the scene. The lighting is good and the post edit work is well done.

  • First up, a big thankyou to i-shot-it for hosting these competitions! Next up, a bigger thankyou to Tim for taking the time to look at our photos (it must harder every comp with the quality that is entered!!) This was my first go at lighting a bike in the sun (this is not a composited image, but using Photoshop to layer a few shots!!) Shot on my old trusty Nikon D300 with a Jinbei HD600 triggered by a Yongnuo YN-622N (hyper synced). Cheers, Justin

  • I shot this whilst on assignment in the US for Hertz Rentals. Shot using a nikon d3200 and a 18-55mm kit lens. All the post processing was done by me and this was shot in the el dorado lake bed in Las Vegas.
