  • Literally a layer of thought goes into this photograph, and yet one more in that we don't know what they are looking at and what exactly they are thinking about it. Very interesting tonality and composition overall.

  • This picture is from the harbour in the city of Bergen in Norway. It is captured 30. of August 2014. I visited Bergen in order to bring home our new shiba puppy. On the way to the breeder we walked along the harbour. There we found the proud sailship "Statsraad Lehmkhul" and we stopped up for some photos. After taken a few photos of the ship some tourists from Japan arrived. As always in Bergen, it is raining, so also this mornig. I turned my Sony A7 around and captured the reflection of one of the tourists in the little pool of water. In Lightroom I turned the picture 180 degrees and made it black and white. For me this is showing the captain of the ship in a full storm in the North Sea. Sony A7, 24-70/4 at f4, iso 640, 67mm, 1/1250 sec.

  • Walking our dogs in Dalby Forest on a morning when freezing fog and mist was ponding in the valleys, the sun suddenly broke through illuminating the man and his two children who were walking ahead of us. I took my camera out of its bag and fired off three shots, before they then disappeared from view, hidden by the sunbeams. Taken with a Leica SL and 24-90 vario-elmarit. Many thanks indeed for the mark of excellence. Rev Dr David Perry

  • I captured this image on a Friday night weekly Muay Thai fight close to my house . I used my A7RII and a 70-300mm lens as I was sitting quite far away from the ring . I am glad this image came into the finalists . Thanks a lot .

  • Thank you very much. This was taken in Crewe with the Fujifilm X30. I happened upon a derelict building and immediately saw the potential. I was lucky with the light and this was the first shot I took.

  • The dark beak and exceptionally white plumage of the egret with the contrasting background turn this into a very artistic photo.

  • A moment of virtual reality in a private room next to what we presume is the real reality. The attitude, the tattoos and all just makes it even more exciting and strong to look at.

  • For most of us such a different photograph of a funeral. We’re so in and close with it all that you can’t help getting affected, yet fascinated by the scene, the light and tones. Very well captured!
