  • This is an outstanding photo! Blurry, grainy and the overall impression is dark, gloomy and somehow different. That makes this photo so interesting. The observer is confused, wants to know and understand all details of this picture. There is also a kind of magic in it. The flame in front of his face is an extraordinary detail. The background fits harmonious to the scene in the front. Very well done! Congrats to the winner of this I-Shot-It Child Competition!

  • Two children playing in a kind of metal cage. This is a picture with a huge optical dynamic. It seems the photo gets in motion. But it also gets calmness transferred from these two children. So it is in balance. Love it!

  • A dynamic picture full of energy. The boy looks straight into the camera, his work could be very exhausting but he looks self confident and proud. The composition is special and underlines that scene in a good way. Well done!

  • A great photo that could be cut out from a movie scene. A dramatic use of light and high contrasts. The boy, perfectly in focus, stand out from the blurry rainy background. The picture becomes lively. Also the house in the background is an interesting element for a great composition.

  • An unusual surrounding for a 'child and beach' photo. But that is the reason why the whole photo is so special. Technically it is also well executed. One of the best pictures from this competition!

  • “Innocence: Normandy Beach” was captured with a Ricoh GR with a fixed 28mm lens at 1/800 sec; f/4.0; ISO 100. This photograph was taken below the cliffs of Normandy Beach, France, where some of the debris from the landing is still in place. Hence, the white “danger” sign in the background. Overall, it’s a site that evokes strong, sad emotions, especially when the sky and water seem so grey, even in color. What a pleasant surprise to find children playing on the beach that day, and any other day, having fun as if they didn’t know. With so many outstanding photographs submitted, it’s an honor to receive a Mark of Excellence award from the judge, Lisa Kutzelnig. Larry Kincaid, Maryland, USA

  • “Friends” was captured with a Ricoh GR with a fixed 28mm lens at Ricoh GR at 1/400 sec; f/2.8; ISO 800. Two girls having their hair “done up” like ballerinas, on their way to watch the annual Nutcracker Suite Ballet. Seeing the fantastic back lighting from the window, I grabbed my Ricoh GR in time to take a couple of spontaneous photographs before they realized what I was doing. Cropping, dodge and burning in Photoshop and monochrome conversion with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2 led to these nice, simple silhouettes. With so many outstanding photographs submitted, it’s an honor to receive a Mark of Excellence award from the judge, Lisa Kutzelnig. Larry Kincaid, Maryland, USA

  • It was in a small town in Latgale that I took this picture… know you’re wondering where the hell Latgale is… It’s the poorest region of Latvia, confining with Russia and Belarus. A place with a really lush nature and where time seems to have stood still. The context of the picture is not a school but an old “kafejnīca”, very popular place in Latvian countryside to take coffee or beer and eat typical home made dishes. Children weren’t there for that… I suppose they didn’t have a penny in their pocket! They were just playing, maybe pretending to be true customers, or were in search of a new pastime... As I put my eye on the viewfinder I noticed that they were so beautiful and started shooting. They saw me but didn’t hide. Actually I think they were pleased and curious, in some way inviting me to play with them. The camera was a Canon G10. Thank’s very much for your appreciation. Chiara Cossu
