- Wow! Thank you so much for this honor! My name is Nicki Lautemann and I live in Colorado, USA. I have an obsession with macro photography, and water shots in particular. I took this using my Nikon d5300 and a 50mm lens in reverse, along with extension tubes. That's my favorite way to do macro, and water droplets are my favorite subject! These particular flowers were a bouquet that I took outside on a sunny day. The tree is my bare crabapple tree. I curse the tree for what it does to my yard, yet I love it at the same time...And lately it's been a nice backdrop for some shots! Thanks again. I'm truly grateful.

- Thanks a lot to everyone who voted for my picture! My name is Andreas Lentfer and I'm very glad that this particular picture got some attention in the contest. It shows a Cedar Waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum) in the Canadian winter trying to get to the last few fruits from a Crabapple tree. I took the photo using a DSLR with a 500m lens attached.
