  • This photo becomes more and more interesting how often you look at it. The first thing you see is a portrait of a little girl in a natural and beautiful way. But also the background is really fascinating and fits perfectly together with the girl in the front. The cat with the mysterious eyes looks like her guard and gives the picture an unusual touch. The way you cropped and framed it is perfect. Altogether it tells a story! Congratulation to the winner of this child competition and keep on doing more photos like that!

  • By Michael Jolliffe. Sydney, Australia. Fuji X100s, Lightroom 4 and Silver FX. My daughter messing around with some googly eyes from a craft kit she was playing with. The wallpaper in her room served the backdrop, "why does your room have flowers and mine have weeds?", Emiliana asked.

  • I really like the facial expression of this little girl. It seems that she does not look into a camera. It looks like that she watches her self in a mirror. This photo becomes interesting because of that and caught my attention.

  • The girl does not realize that someone takes a photo of her. She is is completely concentrated and lost in thoughts, maybe about the handling with forks and spoons? I like also how the colors work together and the situation of the light.

  • By Carl Osterly. This is my niece Mia. The photo was taken at her grandmother's house and shot on a Canon 5D Mark II at 1/400 sec at F2.8 ISO 400 with a Canon EF50mm F1.4 lens. Some tonal adjustments and colour saturation were applied in Lightroom. The image was resized and sharpened in Photoshop. Mia was at the table waiting for lunch to be served. For a few moments she forgot that I was sitting beside her and became distracted by the pattern on the table. That's when I saw an opportunity to take the shot. I love the quiet, reflective look on her face as she compares the real knives and forks on the table with the tablecloth.

  • This picture looks like a scene from a movie. Mysterious because of the light situation and the way how the stand in front of the window. A little bit scary but really interesting to look at it.

  • by Natascha Schmähling. One rare moment of silence of two of my daughters. The next moment they let themselves fall backwards onto my bed again - which I let happen only because my camera once again prevented me from getting emotionally involved... Camera: Fujifilm X100S

  • My name is Nimrod Genisher. I am a professional photographer based in Israel. Self taught and autodidact by nature, I am passioned by light, textures, forms and colors. Combining my keen eye with different techniques and equipment, I capture my point of view and personal impression, and take it across, through a picture, to any potential viewer. ★ I have met charming Këtë on my visit to the small village of Ushguli, located deep into the Greater Caucasus Range of Georgia. This cute boy - with his funny red hat - was very shy, and was continuously playing hide-and-seek with me and my camera. His lovable smile did not get off his face the whole time! It always impress me how small children who grow up with little means, find great joy in the simplest things around them :) ★ For this image I used a Canon 5D mk III with a 24-70mm f/2.8 II L lens, post processing in Lightroom. ★ I invite you to visit my website and follow me on facebook: www.facebook.com/NimrodGenisherPhotography

  • By Ramin Hashempour. I'm a freelance photographer from Canada . I took this picture with my Nikon D800 in Cambodia .The Toul Sangke community in Phnom Penh, Cambodia is not your regular community. Everywhere you look , there are makeshift shanties, broken wooden structures or makeshift tents. But suddenly amongst all the despair and destruction , you see the spectacular movement of childhood. You see it running free and wild. You see the colors of joy, happiness and curiosity splashing around outshining its surrounding . About 4000 families were affected by the massive development projects in Phnom Penh.

  • This was a really fun moment to capture. My daughter was so into the music she was listening to that she had her eyes closed for quite some time (giving me enough time to run and get the camera and take the photo) - would love to know how she was interpreting the music!

  • Hi, thank you for including this photo, one of my favorites of my daughter. Was taken with a Leica M9 and a lens I truly love, an older version of the Noctilux lens shot wide open which has a knack for artistically capturing moments.
