  • The judges loved the composition, the use of the lines throughout the image, the idea of looking out through the window with the reflected blinds. It is so nicely composed that it doesn't feel like "a panorama", yet clearly it is. Well done!

  • Thank you very much for awarding me first place! My name is Gerard Collett and I am a photographer based in London, England. This is the view of the Schloßplatz from the Kubus Museum (which explains the surreal reflections), in Stuttgart, Germany. I love the perspectival grid of its paving stones - this, along with the pedestrianisation of Königstraße, means that there are quite a lot of neat photographic opportunities for the street photographer! The sculpture you can see in the foreground is by Alexander Calder. I took the photograph with my trusty iPhone 5, to which I am indebted and devoted! I processed it using Snapseed. Thank you again for this award and for your very kind comments!

  • We love the texture on the ground here, and a great perspective on the monuments, captures something elegant and sublime.

  • Thank you so much for the Mark of Excellence ! My name is Marco Badalian, I am a photographer based in tropical Mexico. This image was taken on a late Autumn afternoon on the Thomas Jefferson Monument esplanade , with the Washington Monument in the distance . I was taken by the unusually warm and soft light that day and by the flowing perspective . Image taken with iphone 5s, minimal processing on Photoshop Express . www.kuaphotography.com www.facebook.com/marcobadalianphotography

  • Great perspective, really not what you would think to do as a panorama, but it works very well.

  • Thank you very much for the Mark of Excellence. I am really honored. My name is Hermann Schlindwein and I am a German photographer. You are right, it is not a panorama by definition. But to be able to capture the passenger at the window seat behind me and the passenger at the window seat in front of me in one picture and by doing so creating a curved airplane generated the idea I should share it with you. I like the picture very much and I am happy you also liked it. (iPhone 5, approaching Zurich airport, iPhone built in post processing)

  • Lovely treatment with the B+W; the curves on the ground and the complimentary circle amongst the clouds, the silhouette of the photographer.

  • A great atmospheric shot, you can feel the frigidity, the cold atmosphere with the snow, the white sky and the still waters of the small lake.

  • First of all, thank you very much! This makes me happy, I appreciate it a lot. This shot shows Walchensee in Bavaria, Germany. It's one of the deepest (max 190 meter) and largest german lakes in the alps. I use to go hiking around there a lot. The shot was taken with an Apple iPhone4s.

  • Great capture, is this one boat or almost it is two! and the island in the middle is splendid.

  • Thank you very much for the Mark of Excellence. I am really honored. My name is Hermann Schlindwein and I am a German photographer. I like the panoramic feature for two reasons at least: first the outcome is rarely predictable and some kind of surprise is always on its verge and second because it is a good tool to help me to recall the whole scenery and the atmosphere. As in this picture. The island is of course not an island but the shore line of Lake Lugano with Albogasio. And I can assure you, it is really only one boat. • Great clouds and just enough of the buildings to see that it is a place of some history, yet a "modern" building as well. Nice composition.
