  • My name is Myles Honicker, I am a photography enthusiast. I shot this on the Natchez Trace in Mississippi (southern states). This shot is the same subject matter as last week's shot, however, I added a polarizer filter to the mix on this exposure. I am using a Canon 6D and a Canon 17-40 F4 L lens. I did my post processing in Photoshop RAW and used a cross process curve to achieve the unique color in CS4.

  • Hi everyone, my name is Ed Lim. This is a photo of the iconic Brookfield Place in Manhattan and is captioned “Brookfield Unleashed!” on my photo site: 500px.com/edlim. It was taken in December 2013 using a Leica M (Typ 240) camera with a 15mm Zeiss Distagon lens. Subsequent post processing was done using CornerFix and Color Efex Pro 4 plugin within Photoshop CS6. • The Giant Coastal Redwood Trees have been one of the most beautiful things I have ever experienced. You would expect that with all their size and glory it would be easy to get pictures of these colossal organisms. On the contrary, I am not the first photographer to complain about these mysterious and elusive photogenic characteristics. Snap a picture and... their amazing attributes are reduced to nothing more than a picture of the woods. You must be cunning and creative to hunt down the images that reveal the feel of weight, height and age - as when you stood next to them. After shooting as many shots as I could before the camera needed wiping down, I had to take a rain break by standing inside one of these enormous tree’s hollowed out trunks. This particular grove of trees can be found in Lady Bird Johnson Grove in Redwood National Park.

  • Its hard to be certain which geysers are going to be active at any one time. Most eruption tables are estimates. Walking out among the various geysers and hot pools in the early evening is like being on another planet! Geyser eruption streams and huge steam banks filled the atmosphere all around me. I scouted out this geyser, looking for a good early morning subject to photograph, just as it started erupting... Powerful blasts of steam reached for the sky. As the steam cooled, mist settled on the ground around Castle Geyser. I suddenly heard some of the onlooking crowd excitingly pointing out something... I looked but nothing - then there it was - a geyserbow! With the sun setting behind me, the mist was lighting up with intense color. Step just to the right, and it was gone. Step off to the left, and nothing... it was a just right time of day, just right eruption time and just right camera position that all came together perfectly! Sony A77 See Video Here:
