  • Bravo for this beautiful picture, the colors are really beautiful. The tones of the background are very soft and really agree well with the color of the praying mantis. Very very good job. Still beautiful pictures during these two months, I struggled to my selection! I wish you all a happy holiday season. Regards David.

  • Hi, thanks for the Mark of Excellence. I am Pritesh Chooramun from Mauritius. I used a Canon 60D and a Canon 100mm f2.8 macro lens for this shot. It was indeed very tricky to get the right focus and timing! Needed some trials before getting the right shot. Thanks

  • Thank you for this mark of excellence! My name is Florent. I live in Belfort, Northeastern France. This picture was shot during a nature trip near Baladou, a small village in Quercy, France. There were lots of various butterflies in that area. These two kept frolicking around flowers just behind a barbed wire fence surrounding a field. I found the scene interesting, so I contorted a bit and took some shots of them until I got what I wanted. I used a Zeiss Apo Sonnar 135mm f/2 manual focus lens on a Nikon D600.

  • Hi, thanks for the Mark of Excellence! This is my second one in this competition! Lucky me :) I am Pritesh Chooramun from Mauritius. I used a Canon 60D and a Canon 65mm f2.8 MPE macro lens for this shot. Thanks for your advice about the composition! Will keep this in mind for coming shots! I focused too much on getting the closest to have maximum details and just mess the framing!
