  • Winning shot! I have always been a huge fan of b/w images and this really works here, plus I love the cropping on this, less is very much so more and the tones, contrast and texture all come together to make a very pleasing image thats effective and grabs your eye. Well Done!

  • The photograph was taken in Riverside Park, just above the Hudson River, on the west side of New York City. I was heading down to the water to shoot the sunset, but stopped on the promenade because the light was so beautiful. The camera used was an Olympus OM-D E-M5 with the excellent Panasonic-Leica 25mm lens. Many thanks to I Shot It for awarding the photograph first prize.

  • 2nd Place Congrats! I love this shot, its simple and effective and yet I can see that a great deal of effort most likely went into this, good light and use of focal length, great shot

  • Hello, my name is Jesse Lee and I am a photographer based out of Los Angeles, California. On the night that this photo was taken, I had just received my B + W CPL and wanted to test it out; Conveniently, my car was running low on gas. So, I pulled out my Canon 5d Mk iii with a 70-200 Canon lens, attached the CPL, and took this shot handheld. There wasn't any controlled lighting used for this photo but I worked with the fluorescent lights on the overhang and this is the result of 2 hours worth of editing in both Lightroom and Photoshop. Thank you very much for the second place honor!

  • Very constructed shot but one that has had both time and effort put in to produce a very striking and a great result. Nice lighting and use of space too, a very well constructed car piece Well done!

  • How exciting! Thank you so much for choosing my admittedly unorthodox entry amongst so many wonderful images, what an honor! My name is Anna and I live in Portland, Oregon, USA. This was taken on a recent trip to Mato Grasso do Sul, Brazil. These horses were kind enough to let us piggy back through the wetlands of the Pantanal, trudging through belly-deep water and weaving through forests. This was shot in manual with my travel compact, a Panasonic DMC-LX7. Post-processing was done in Lightroom.

  • Love this, well done! It really works well in b/w but also I love true use of the very low angle, contrast is just right band the over all dark and moody feel to it with the clever use of the added texture from the ground draw the eye in to the focal point . Well done

  • Its simple and its bright, and its brilliant ! love this, well done ! Good use of light and the water I feel actually adds to the interest, possibly would be nice to see it a little darker and a little less saturation but overall a very good shot indeed !

  • This Corvair truck was waiting for the Shades of The Past Rod Run in Pigeon Forge to happen. I captured it on my way in to the gallery one morning after a light rain. This was the first official relase from the new Nikon D600 I bought this summer. Shot with Nikkor 28-105, ISO 400, 1/160, f8. I also actually over saturate my works just a pinch because I like them extra vivd and they seem to sell better in the gallery.

  • Alan Knott Newcastle, Northumberland car park. The photograph was taken with a Canon 550D, 24-105mm wide angle lens and polarizing filter with natural light. For the post processing I went a took a landcsape photo of Newcastle, and brushed it into the background. I wanted the car to stand out so I made sure that when Brushed the background the opacity was at 50% or less. I used both Lightroom and Photoshop to get the correct colours that I was looking in the photograph.

  • Wow thats a great action shot for something that I can imagine would be very hard to capture, technically I would have liked to see a possibly wider view and a little more detail in the sky and water but overall a very accomplished shot and worth a merit for sure! Well done

  • It’s an honor to be selected from such stiff competition! This was taken just above Niagara Falls using a Canon 7D and a 500L. The hydroplane was traveling around 120 mph. These boats displace a tremendous amount of water – the background is the spray from another boat on the backstretch. Quite a sight to see. Thanks for making my day! - Bob Magee

  • very nice piece of work from a constructed shot, car lighting is very nice and I can see that time has been taken to get that right. The scene over all is very dramatic and the mix of elements works together Well done !
