- My name is Jan Roder, and this photo was taken in Glacier National Park. This was our first trip to Glacier and hopefully not my last. You could wear a camera out there! I love the early morning light, and especially love catching the morning fog lifting. This was taken with a Canon 50D, with a Tamron 18-270mm lens, at f.9, 1/250, ISO 100 @ 50mm. Thank you for the "Mark of Excellence" recognition, and thank you to those who voted for me and have chosen my picture as your favorite. As a beginner, this is a real honor.

- Thank you so very much for all the votes this shot received, especially considering the amount of fantastic photos that were submitted. This shot was taken at a historic house that was moved from downtown Mobile, Alabama to Dauphin Island, Alabama. The house was in severe need of restoration. I entered the house, saw the ladder to the attic and eased up the failing steps. I poked my head through the opening and this is what I saw. I shot with a Rolei 35 with 50mm using Tri-X B&W film at 100 ASA. I propped the camera up for a 1/30 at f/16. This is the original image without touchup. I love to shoot old school by using film in darker situations, as digital hasn't quite caught up in that aspect....yet.

- My name is Greg Trenchard from Baltimore, MD. Thank you all for voting for my image. It is an honor to recieve a Mark of Excellence, especially given how many great images were entered in this competition. I took this photo at Eastern State Penitentiary, an abandoned prison in Philadelphia, PA which last housed prisoners in 1971. Its medieveal looking architecture, coupled with 40 years of decay have created a fascinating location to photograph. I took this photo through the bars of one of the cell blocks what was not open to the public. I used a Canon 6D with the 24-105 f/4L. The scene was lit only by the skylights in the ceiling of cellblock, and when I underexposed, the scene really came to life. Again thank you for liking my image.

- Thanks to everyone who voted for my picture. My name is Blake Remy and I'm from Laurel, MS. This image was shot in St. Louis, MO at the Gateway Arch. It was actually shot with my Samsung Note 2. It was raining on and off all day so I didn't have my camera with me so I had to use what I had available. Post processing was done on the phone as well using Snapseed.

- Thank you all for your votes. I hope that you enjoyed viewing this as much as I did taking it. My family and I were on vacation at Indian Rock Beach, Florida. We were walking the beach at sunset, I looked out at the changing sky and saw a paddle board surfer heading towards us. I quickened my pace and was adjusting my settings on the fly as I quickly moved to the point of intercept. I found my spot on the beach without any foreground objects and waited for the surfer. I took 3 bracketing shots, using a Nikon 8700. The first at f/16 for 1/100 sec, f/16 at 1/60 and the final at f/16 at 1/30. The shot you see is the f/16 at 1/60 at ISO 800. No post work was needed as the Nikon captured the color exactly as it appeared.
