Hey, my name is Katrin Streiparth and this is one of my favorite photos. I made it in the beautiful zoo of hannover during the feeding from the polar bears with my Nikon D90 camera and the Sigma 70-200 lens with 2.0 converter. I hope you really love this picture as much as I do. ;-)

I took this photo out my bedroom window a few weeks ago. Cropped and darkened background. Lumix DMC-FZ200 25.2mm -1/500 sec - Aperture f/4 - ISO/Film 100 - Thanks for the votes!!!

First of all thank you for the Mark of Excellence award. I’m not good in wording, so apologize if this story will be very brief. I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia and just started about 2 months ago as a serious photographer. I have a deep passion in capturing my object’s soul, especially human because I believe this is the only way for me to communicate with my audiences. And of course almost 90% of my works are in black and white. I took this shot during my last visit to Gianyar district in beautiful Bali island around 2 months ago. This old nice lady I believe is one of the owner of traditional Balinese style house in that area and there are only few left now. My camera is Canon 60D with EF 24-70mm f/4L IS USM. Post processing was using Adobe Lightroom 4.4 converted to black and white.
