- The action was performed by a good friend (THX, Horst!) at a meeting of about 20 avid photographers in the Austrian alps (2350m). I could only manage one shot, as it started to rain. So I was lucky with this one - and I am happy with the Mark Of Excellence now! Sony A700, Minolta 24/2.8, 19 sec, f 7.1. Thank you all for voting! Christian Bernfeld

- It's AMAZING how such a tiny thing can make such a HUGE impact on people. Thanks for the Mark Of Excellence. This was shot about 1.6 mile from my house. The pattern you see under this flake is my jacket. One shape on the pattern is less than a 1/16th of an inch, so this will let you know how tiny this snowflake was. I used a Cannon Rebel T3i with the factory 18-55 lens and an extension tube. not 100% sure what size tube i used at this point.
