- My name is Jerry Cotten from Lamesa Tx. This was shot near Lamesa with a Canon XSI on a tripod. The wind blew in the cloud in the middle and the lightning struck through it and backlit the cloud's edges. The National Weather Channel on TV featured my photo, won 2nd place in International Photographers contest, finalist in Nature's Best contest, and published in Outdoor Photographer magazine. - This photo was taken 20 years ago at Point Lobos State Natural Reserve in Monterey County, California. I used a Nikon FG 35mm SLR. I scanned the negative to convert it to a digital file. Dust spot removal and minor color adjustments were done in Photoshop. I live in Northern California. Thank you for the votes!
