  • A big Thank You to everybody who voted for my image, I am very proud of this result! My name is Florian Breuer, and I am from South Africa. This is a 230 degree view of the Quiver Tree Forest near Keetmanshoop, Namibia. The orange glow is actually light pollution. I stitched 12 exposures using Hugin. Postprocessing: curves adjustments. The colours result from the choice of white balance and increased contrast. Canon 40D, Tokina 11-16mm, 30s, f/2.8, ISO 3200.

  • Thank you for the votes! I am Alexey Pronin, live in Miami, Florida. One evening in 2007 I was on my deck in San Diego and saw hot air balloons flying near the horizon as the sun was setting behind clouds. I zoomed in onto one of the balloons using a 100-400/4-5.6 Minolta telephoto lens and grabbed a picture . The pictures was taken with Sony A100 DSLR camera. Some light processing was done using Photoshop CS5 to improve contrast. You are welcome to visit my website for more images.

  • Thank you for your votes! I am Alexey Pronin, live in Miami, Florida. In May of 2011 I attended a tour exploring Lake Powell, Utah (http://www.dynamicphotoworkshops.com). The first night we settled near an enormous stone canyon wall and set up a camp fire. I took this picture with a Sony A850 DSLR camera and an 18/3.5 Minolta lens. All light in the photo was provided by the fire. Some processing was done using Photoshop CS5 to improve contrast. You can visit my website for more images.
