  • That day I was roaming Venice with my Olympus e5 scouting for inspiring spots but city was packed with tourists and the late July noon light was harsh. I was suddenly struck by that old man, taking shelter from daylight, hit by a blade of sunlight, then reflected by the yellow wall into golden tones. I put on the Zuiko 50-200 SWD tele, and sneaked back to take my pic. PP was carried out in LR, just local contrast and HL recovery, as beautiful light was already there. -Roberto D'Antoni

  • My name is Peter Dombovary and I live in Vancouver, Canada. Shot with Nikon D60, the photo was taken in a monastery in Bhutan. The people in the photo are my travel group. I'm currently traveling in Nepal so I can't access the post-processing info. I do use Photoshop and what I recall doing is little cropping to reduce a heavy looking area at the top and slightly lightening the image with Shadow/ Highlights. The colors are unchanged.

  • A combination of water and light is almost an instant winner. The green hose and green leaves with sun coming through the forest. Water breaks the light and gives it the special touch. This young man looks like he's having a lot of fun!

  • When I photographed this, I had initially been wanting to get a simple portrait of my brother. While we were on our way to the spot I had in mind, I noticed the hose coiled on the ground with the setting sun streaming through the trees and couldn't resist trying to make a photograph out of it. This was shot with a Canon T1i, 50mm 1.8 II lens, and added contrast with the Curves in Photoshop CS4 - Sarah Mattozzi

  • Once in a while the I SHOT IT judges come across an unusual image. An image which can not be compared to others. An image, where something is unique and different. This photo of a big dark horse and a young white horse is one of them. A stunning capture in the perfect moment. Truly unique!

  • We can feel the bitter coldness by observing this stunning photo. The big and wide emptiness and the snow-captured mountains say it all. Great composition and execution.

  • An intense moment has been caught here. The fence in the foreground is very important as a build up to the lightning. A great story being told in the photo. It makes us wonder ... Who's behind the camera?

  • Frida LIndblom. This picture is taken at an airport, I can't remember which one at the moment, most probably at DFW. The camera used was a Fujifilm FinePix X100 and post-processing involved dulling down the colors.

  • In the past, we saw similar photos like this before. BUT not from this angle or perspective. Most of these kind of photos are being shot from the front of the horse. This photo is different, and this is why we think it is a stunner; how the light enters the booth of the horse and gently flows along the wall. And having a gate at the back. Very well done!

  • Patient - Thoroughbred Healing Charan McMillan Shot with an Olympus e500 This is a splendid horse temporarily off the playground. The longing for the gallop and freedom in his eyes and the disregard for the playball hanging, and the healing warmth of the sun on his shins seemed like such a poignant moment for me to see.

  • First we thought that this might be a necklace - but not so sure anymore. No idea really what it is, but it is cute and motion has been captured well. A girl sitting on a swing maybe? This image blown up really big could be interesting. Great!

  • This shot is of a very delicate papier mache doll that was a gift from my daughter. I gently swung the piece (around 9" tall) suspended from a boom arm using fishing line in front of a black background. I used my Nikon D700 with Nikkor 24-70mm/F2.8, F5.6, 1/6 sec, and tried to time the exposure at the right point in the swing. The motion capture effect was created using a Nikon SB900 Speedlight, rear curtain sync mode. Thank you for this acknowledgement! Kim Herold, Navarre, FL.

  • The same sky, divided by a bridge make the sky look so different on both sides. Reflections in the water give it another dimension all together.
