    • My name Elizabeth Yureklier DiRosa, I am a Florida Wildlife Photographer . The flamingo is one of my favorite birds to observe, although they are not actually Florida natives: the lesser Flamingo (Phoenicopterus minor) is a species in the flamingo family of birds that resides in Africa that are often found in our wildlife parks here in Florida. They have bold personalities that are just as colorful as their feathers which makes them awesome to watch and photograph.

    • Thank you so very much for voting for my photo and the Mark of Excellence. I am deeply honored. That was very unexpected being that this is the first time I have ever entered any of my photos in a contest. I was located in Poplar Branch, NC when I took this. I would visit the mother and baby osprey often to check up on them. I used my Nikon D5000 with a Tamron 28-300mm VR lens. I do no post processing except to crop. I love to keep my work as natural as possible. Melanie VonWinkle

    • This is such an honor! Thanks so much for voting. My name is Auburn Wendover and I shot this photo of my daughter as Alice using my Canon 7D. The sun was setting so there was some awesome back lighting.I also used Photoshop to add some texture and do some hand edits.

    • Rachelle Elswick. Cape Canaveral, FL. Rebel XS Canon. This was shot originally in color, which was also very dramatic, but I felt making it a black and white image and increasing the contrast a little made a whole lot more dramatic and focused the attention more on the impending storm coming. Thank you very much for the Mark of Excellence, it's an honor and I greatly appreciate it!
