  • Thank you very much. I've very surprised but also extremely happy to win this edition! Photo was taken at Geneva Motorshow at Lamborghini stand. I've been there few times in past and I have always enjoyed how they present their cars. A little bit of luck (no people), perfect angle, beautiful car and a cool idea with the ceiling. All put together gave this amazing shot and one of my favourite from last few years. Thanks again!

  • This is a stunning piece of work and not easy to create The light painting of such a dark coloured car works really well and I can imagine a lot of time and effort went into this. Position is great and the background scene works really well with it.

  • Thank you for the kind words, Tim! This did take lots of time and patience to get right. This was the first black car I've done, and I quickly realized that I needed to take a different approach than I have with other vehicles I've shot.

  • I adore black and white and it works really well in this scene. The position and balance are just right and the use the light and shade to craft the scene are what stands out for me. Great shot.

  • Good position and great skill on the lighting in this one. The angle ins higher than I would normally shoot but it works well. I find the exit on the wall a little overpowering and I think the car would have been enough. Try a wider crop next time and if you include things in the background ask yourself why they are there and if they mean what you want them too. Great shot, epic lighting, well done

  • Hi Tim, Thank you for the accolades and thank you for the valuable comments. The car was lit using speed lights (to overpower the ambient light) and was double diffused to create the soft light on the car. I am Maryna Cotton, from South Africa, and I used my Nikon D800, 50mm 1.4mm

  • Love this. Great feel to this and glad that you choose black and white with a slight warm tone over it, reminds me of the old Agfa print papers years ago and suits this shot really well.

  • Thank you very much for the feedback. As a hobbyist I am continuely trying to improve & light painting these big shiny rigs is a massive challenge. I was really pleased with the end result on this one. I've forgotten how many layers were involved , heaps. Took a good hour just to make sure I'd lit each area. Phototaken in Gatton, queensland . Australia

  • Lovely action shot, vibrant colours and good motion with the use the shutter speed just right. I would have liked to have seen this as a more strip wider crop I think concentrating on the car and the dirt getting kicked up. Don't be afraid to crop your work, it can boost it further. Well done
