- What to say to this photo Ondrej is a virtuoso of the macro, this Calopteryx portrait is just sublime. The clarity is amazing, the colors are beautiful, what more besides congratulations for this first place and this beautiful photo that I know has not been easy to do. Very good job Ondrej!

- Smile Location: Slowakia, Myjava lake Brestovec Canon 7D+ canon mp-e 65 It is stacking in PS CS 8 from 2 picture + contrast and vibration My favorite kind of photography is Macro. It`s another world, which can be seen only under our feet. We can discover a world of small monsters. Each fly, bee and spider is a perfect predator or a warring victim in this empire. It`s always a big surprise for me to find out how many species, forms and colors exist in this kingdom. I see the things around me a bit differently after each visit in this micro-world. I try to look at them in their own way. It`s very funny.

- Dew drops. Place: Slowakia, Myjava lake Brestovec. Canon 40D , Canon mp-e 65 1-5x, extern Falsh canon 480II+handmade difuzor, but without tripod- I´m to lazy and impatien to use a tripod. Post processing - PS CS 8 contrast and vibration. I have biggest problem to take for these pictures- rise up early and to find a insect / morning is cold and insects are not to easy find / in a high grass and to come very close to it .

- Here is a superb fly portrait, details are impressive, sharpness on the eyes is impeccable. The colors are natural and the depth of field is very good. Very good job.

- Red. Place: Stara Tura, lake Dubnik Slawakia Canon 7D+ canon mp-e 65 1-5x By the macro-photography are the eyes of the insects the most interesting for me. That is why I wanted to make a natural photo of the red eyes fly with contrast of defokusing grass . I had been concentrated at the "honeycomb pattern" in the eyes. I use Photoshop for better DOF (depth of focus) - that is the biggest problem by macro-photography. While the DOF is very small, I am always trying to make two or more shoots with a different DOF. I am using stacking and sharpening in Photoshop.

- A beautiful photo of these two dragonflies, the background is really beautiful. The sharpness on dragonflies is very good, there just red that I find a bit too flashy, otherwise it's a great photo.
