  • What a wonderful image. Especially the unusual composition with parts of a flower in the foreground, makes this an amazing capture. The bright yellow and green, as well as a narrow DOF makes this a positive and powerful photograph.

  • I'm always looking for different ways to shoot subjects. On this shot I could have focused on the main flower but I thought it made the photo more interesting - and different - to focus on the yellow petals in the foreground. I enjoy using a fixed focal length lens - in this case a Tamron 90mm - because it makes you concentrate on composition. My name is Dan Gindling and I'm from San Diego.

  • This is a well executed photo, with an appearance of almost black and white. The dark background makes the seeds of this Dandelions beautifully stand out.

  • This is another one of our favourites! Nicely photographed with all the details of the window in the back, which can be a bit tricky for some. Lovely how the flowers are positioned off center and in a simple vase.

  • This image we like because of its spontaneousness and its positive appearance. The bright colours against the blue and white sky are truly refreshing.

  • My name is Jose Rojas from Umina Beach, NSW the photo was taken at Old Bar, Middle North coast, NSW on a cloudy and windy day, for that reason I am holding the flower with my left hand wile I took the picture with the other hand. I used a Pentax K-5 with a polarized filter taken in Row and processed in Lightroom 5 to control contrast ,sharpening and cropping.

  • Almost like a painting from an old master! The moody desaturated colours, and how the flowers are being framed in the photo is wonderful. Well done!

  • My name is John Freiermuth from Maple Grove, MN. I captured this blooming Hasta in my front yard. Laid up most of the summer at home, this was as far from the house as I could get so this recognition is quite welcomed to a not so great summer, Thank you. Cannon 7D ISO 400, 70mm, F20, 1/40 sec. Post processing: Lightroom5

  • The simplicity in the composition of this photo, as well as the complementary colours of yellow and purple make this photo one of the best! Lovely seen and well executed.
