- A view from the south tufas at Mono Lake, California at sunset. This was a winter scene. Sometimes you have to spend a few days there to get great weather conditions for a good photo. Canon 1Ds Mark II with a split neutral density filter was used. Thanks for voting.

- A wave breaking at dawn in Ventura, California during offshore wind conditions. A long telephoto lens was used so I could shoot somewhat parallel to the beach at dawn as the sun is rising. The angle of the sun provides good reflections off the face of the wave. Canon 5D Mark II. Thanks for voting.

- I shot this one night after stepping onto my deck in southeast Georgia during a full moon. This was a spur of the moment shot using a Canon Rebel EOS T4i. The pecan tree provided the perfect ambiance and I couldn't be more pleased with the turn out.

- Thank you so much. My name is Dale Hoffman and I am a bird-aholic. This picture was taken on 1-6-2013 with my Olympus E-3 and a 70-300 Zuiko, during a light snow here in Ortonville , MI. Photo was shot at 1/250 sec, F /10, with flash, a Better Beamer,and tripod. Processed with Lightroom-3. Bluebirds are a favorite of mine for winter photography.
