there's just so much awesomeness about this image ... the tonal rendering, the depth of field, the strong and minimal composition allowing the subject to really pop, the intensity of the cat's gaze, and then the stitches across the top of the cat's head which lead the viewer to wonder what kinds of adventures this intense creature has undertaken. wonderfully done! ~ illona

Thank you for this first prize! This was taken on a hot 90ºF morning this summer and this unique cat seemed to be the only one not to be affected by it. Rose is a 1 year old Sphynx and was walking on a leash like a dog and was acting like one. She was actually looking at a dog on the other side of the road. I took this image with a Canon 7D and a Sigma 35mm ART at f/2.2 and only made basinc adjustments and B&W on Lightroom. My name is Catherin Arsenault and I'm a pet photographer from Québec, Canada.
