Congratulations to Chris Gardner from the US who has won $894.00 with a super photo of his 2½ year old daughter, Isla. The hair shades the face from direct sunlight which is perfect for this natural and timeless looking portrait. When I look at photos of myself taken in the early 1970's when I was I child I look at them and think, 'Was that really me?'. Perhaps one day Isla will do the same. She is very lucky to have a father who is such a skilled photographer.

Thank you to everyone who entered one of the 197 entries. And we'd also like to thank the judge Lisa Alessandra Kutzelnig for choosing twenty of the finest photos which must have been difficult as there were so many excellent photos.

Congratulations to Andrea Spence ( facebook ) from the US who has won $868.00. Coastline photos can be so different from one day to another depending on the weather and the light. This photo captures a time when there is lots of movement and even though this is a single moment in time I can imagine the rolling waves and seagulls circling in the wind.

Well done to all of the winners and thank you to everyone who entered a photo. And of course we'd like to thank the judge Duncan MacArthur.

A very talented photographer with an eye for a winning shot. To win this competition takes more than just a photo of a pretty dog. It has to be special. It has to be original. Congratulations to Angee Manns from a farm in central Missouri, US. This shot must have been taken with a very fast lens as many of the mud droplets are sharp and the mud is frozen in time like a crazy sculpture. The photo also has that fun element and we imagine the moments before and after the shot was taken.

Angee is a professional photographer who has many excellent photos on her website: 2bseenphotography.com. This super photo has won Angee $1,042.00.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this competition. The standard of photography was very high. Thank you to our judge Lisa Alessandra Kutzelnig.

Congratulation to Rosa Fiorenzo ( www.fiorenzorosa.it ) from Italy who has won $5,830.00 and a Leica M MONOCHROM body worth $8000.00. Portrait photos often work well when taken in familiar surroundings, rather than a studio. Without a studio, it can be hit and miss with getting the ideal lighting. In this photo it just feels like everything came together to make the perfect photo. If I gave this photo a name I think it would be, "Hungry Eyes".

Rosa Fiorenzo said, "The photo was taken at the end of a lunch at the birthday party of my two sisters. There was a moment of serenity and I noticed that my niece Joy was playing with the plate while sitting in his mother's arms ... without a thought I immediately took the camera and dropped to the level of the table and took the photo. The light from the window made the difference."

Congratulations to all of the winners and everyone who entered one of the 583 entries and to the judges Thorsten Overgaard and Birgit Krippner.
