Landscape Competition Details

October 22nd, 2011

I SHOT IT is excited and pleased to announce the new Landscape Photo Competition - a pilot exercise ready to pave the way for a whole new series of themed I SHOT IT competitions.

The principle is simple, for each photo you enter you will pay a sum of $3 and in the same way as the Premium Competition, the prize fund grows with the number of photos in the contest. The competition will run for a total of 2 months.

With a themed competition the question that everyone will ask is "What are the Judges looking for?" For our new themed compettions we will have specialist judging and we have recruited a phenomenally talented landscape photographer - Duncan MacArthur - for this first theme. He says the entries should be:

"Landscape or seascape photography of natural scenes anywhere in the world showing nature at its best. We will be looking for originality, fine composition and interesting use of light. Have you captured the mood? Photos should be sharp (except in the case of intentional artistic blur) and well exposed. All techniques are accepted (HDR, stitching of panoramas etc) so long as the result looks natural. We want to see your talent as a photographer, your appreciation, and interpretation of nature's beauty. We don't want to see your computer skills."

We are all anticipating another I SHOT IT success with the Landscape competition - it starts on Monday 24th October. So what are you waiting for? Pick up the camera, get out there and start photographing nature! Not a Landscape photographer? Our other Competitions are continuing as usual.
